OUR STORY
Integrated Genotyping Service and Support(IGSS), was a project under the International Livestock Research Institute (as a research entity), and implemented by the Bioscienceseastern and central Africa-International Livestock Research Institute (BecA-ILRI Hub) in partnership with Diversity ArraysTechnology Pty Ltd (DArT PL) based in Australia and Funding from Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. IGSS platform provided genotyping (genome sequencing-based genetic profiling) using DArTseqTM technology, and associated bioinformatics data management, analysis, and decision support services that enables African crop and livestock breeders to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their breeding programs. After over 4 years of service provision, a review on sustainability and continuity of service was made, and as a result, there was need to make this noble project an independent entity- hence the birth of SEQART AFRICA. SEQART AFRICA operates within ILRI Nairobi campus, offering an even improved service package from the ones initially offered under IGSS.
