Mercy works as Research Officer at SEQART AFRICA. She supports the Team Lead and manages the dry Lab operations. Her main role is working on Data Analysis of DArTseq markers as well as report preparation and consultation with our clients. She is also responsible for the entire Financial department of the company. Prior to joining SEQART, Mercy worked as Research officer under the Integrated Genotyping Service and Support (IGSS) at the BecA-ILRI Hub.

Mercy underwent a one-year intensive training to acquire specialized skills on Data Analysis for DArT markers and basic genomics laboratory skills at Diversity Arrays Technology (DArT) in Canberra, Australia. She previously worked as a Part-time Lecturer-Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science, Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Statistics and BSc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from Jomo Kenyatta university of Agriculture & Technology.

Outside work, Mercy enjoys spending time with family, traveling, participating in community-based programs and listening to music.
