Samuel is a research associate at SEQART AFRICA. He is part of the Wet Lab team and he is mainly involved in various aspects of DArTseq Genotyping. He provides technical support in molecular biology laboratory work. Prior to joining SEQART, Samuel worked as a Research Associate at the Integrated Genotyping Support and Service (IGSS) platform under the BecA-ILRI Hub.

Samuel has undergone intensive trainings at the Diversity Arrays Technology (DArT) Pty Ltd laboratory in Australia to acquire specialized skills in genotyping by sequencing procedures that will be applied at SEQART Platform to enhance and improve capabilities of national crops and livestock breeding programs in Sub-Saharan Africa. He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology from University of Nairobi. He is currently pursuing Master’s in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology from University of Nairobi.

During free times Samuel enjoys travelling and volunteering in community environmentally friendly activities.
